Senior Planner
Our company has worked with our government and industry clients to shape and support growth across NSW for over 12 years. We are looking for a Senior Planner who is motivated to lead projects for our clients with the support of our Director team. The diversity of work and clients we have will provide for shorter term quick win projects but also the opportunity to unpack every facet of the development process and develop a command of our long running masterplanned community projects.

The position
This position is aimed at someone who has a strong understanding of the NSW planning system and motivated to dive into new and diverse projects and earn the trust of our clients. A minimum of 6 years of experience within development assessment teams of local councils or consultancy is preferrable. We see this role being for someone who could oversee projects with input as required from Directors. It is a hands-on role with responsibility for projects and but would also provide opportunities to lead and mentor junior staff.
A large majority of our work involves assisting clients with DAs, REFs and Planning Proposals. Subject to the right fit and experience, we would also intend to introduce this planner into one or more of our long standing masterplanned community projects with aspirations to allow them to serve as the planning lead with Director oversight into the future.
There will also be opportunities to take on other work, depending on your interests, including due diligence investigations, development control plans, policy preparation and advocacy, appeals through the Land and Environment Court and the preparation of development contribution plans and planning agreements. As our trust, and our client’s trust, in you is earnt, we would also like to see the senior planner grow with the company into more senior positions.

Key selection criteria
- Bachelors degree in Town planning or related field
- Preferrable to have 6+ years experience working in the NSW planning system, preferably within local council, developer or consultancy
- Interest in taking on projects in the Growth Areas of Western Sydney and the Illawarra region
- Sound ability to analyse sites, approval pathways and interpret legislation. An understanding of the Codes SEPP, Housing SEPP and Western Parkland City SEPP is preferrable
- Ability to produce clear and professionally written reports
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills
- NSW Drivers Licence
