About the Role
The Mornington Peninsula Shire’s ACG次元网 Scheme is one of the most challenging and comprehensive planning schemes in Victoria. Within a changing and dynamic planning framework, robust economic growth and development, and a highly participatory community, the planning role requires balancing competing objectives to achieve quality land use and development outcomes. The position is responsible for providing and facilitating a high-quality service in relation to the Planning and Environment Act and Mornington Peninsula ACG次元网 Scheme and achieving performance standards as required by the Development Services unit
Core responsibilities include:
- Undertake relevant processes and procedures in accordance with council’s legislative requirements.
- Administer the planning scheme.
- Engage and communicate with the community and provide advice through the course of the ACG次元网 process.
- Liaise with external referral authorities and internal referral units throughout the processing of planning applications.
- Maintain and record clear concise meeting notes to be kept on council’s corporate record keeping system (Objective).
- Engage Councillors and provide advice in relation to planning related matters.
About You
- Undergraduate degree in town planning or a related discipline (e.g. environmental science, urban design, land surveying, architecture, etc.).
- Experience in a planning related field preferred.
- Knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, Mornington Peninsula ACG次元网 Scheme, the Subdivision Act 1988, and other relevant Acts and Regulations, together with State and Local Planning policies.
- A thorough understanding of council’s legislative requirements.
- An understanding of relevant policies, regulations and precedents - Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- A sound understanding of the Shire strategic plan, the community plan and council’s organisational goals.
