GC Branch: Demystifying Change Applications Seminar
Development approvals often need to be changed for any number of different reasons. Changes in market demands, economic considerations, unforeseen issues encountered in construction are just some of the matters that may drive the need to change an existing development approval.
This seminar will give practical guidance to planners in advising clients and preparing change applications under the Planning Act, with a focus on issues faced in the Gold Coast market.
We will cover:
- P&E Court authority as to what constitutes a minor change and 'other' change
- Practical application of the substantially different development test
- Considering future change at the initial development application stage
- Treatment of cumulative changes
- Making minor change applications to the Planning and Environment Court
